I want to change my password...

You can change your password by clicking on “My Details” at the top right-hand side of the screen. Next, click on the “My Details” tab. Scroll down the page to “Set New Password” and enter a new password into the white box. We ask you to do this twice to make sure there are no typos in your password.

Can I make a Care Companion account for my company/organisation?

Unfortunately, no. Care Companion offers a personalised experience by recommended resources based on the information you provide about you and the person you care for, so the site works best for individual accounts. In addition, to ensure privacy and confidentiality we require an individual telephone number to verify a new account.

I want to see the full page at once…

You can increase or reduce the size of the Care Companion by changing the zoom. To zoom on your laptop, click on the settings button and adjust the percentage of zoom or pinch two fingers on the touch pad and spread them apart, expanding the screen. If you are using a mobile device, double tap the section you want to magnify.

Logging in every time is irritating, can I save time?

The ‘Remember Me’ function allows you to store your email address and password on the website, so whenever you go onto the Care Companion website, it will automatically take you to your homepage. Never do this on a shared or public device, as this will allow other people to access your information. 

My tablet/iPad doesn’t show the full page…

Even though you may not be zoomed in, your tablet or iPad may not show the full page of the Care Companion because it needs to be viewed in landscape mode. You can fix this by changing the settings on your device.

For Android tablet users (e.g. Samsung):

  • Turn the device so that it is landscape
  • Open the Settings window
  • Click on ‘Display’
  • Click on ‘Auto-rotate screen’ – this will disable the auto-rotate so that it always stays on landscape.

For Apple tablet users:

  • Turn the device so that it is landscape
  • Swipe your finger from the very bottom of the screen upwards
  • A display should now appear on which there will be a picture of a padlock
  • Click on the padlock icon until it is locked and red.

Things keep popping up on my screen. Can I turn them off?

Of course! You can block pop-ups by adjusting the settings on your computer.

If you are using Internet Explorer:

  • Click on the Tools button
  • Click on "Internet Options"
  • Click Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.

If you are using Google Chrome:

  • Click on the Chrome Menu in the top right of your screen, next to the search box.
  • Select “Settings” from the menu
  • Type “Popups” into the blue search bar
  • The “Privacy and settings” page will now be on the screen. Look to the bottom of the page and click on “Content Settings”
  • Click on “Popups”
  • Slide the bar to the “Blocked” position.

Safari:

  1. Windows users select ‘Safari’ > ‘Preferences’
  2. Click on ‘Security’ at the top of the window
  3. Tick the box ‘Block pop-up windows’ to enable this feature. Untick it to disable it.

What is Two-Factor Verification?

As the Care Companion is designed to help you with potentially intimate matters, we want to make sure that your information is as secure as possible and minimise the risk of someone else accessing your account. To do this, we ask for two ways of confirming your identity: your email address and your mobile number. Once you have provided this, you will immediately receive a call to that number and an automated message which will give you a 4-digit number that you should enter when asked. This ensures that if you forget your password, we can verify it is indeed you that is resetting your password.
